Opening day for staff was made memorable by the musical performance of a select group of students from across the grade levels. The students, who came together and practiced for only a brief time under the direction of music teachers Mr. Hahn and Mr. Del Casale, played four songs. The performance began with PHS Senior, Charlie Di Nota, doing a solo of “The Star Spangled Banner” on his electric guitar (Think Jimi at Woodstock) . Senior Evan Leone performed a flute solo during “Chameleon”. Danny Rivera ( Class of ’09) sat in on trumpet. Singers Jachele Walker ( Class of 2011), Alexandra Sanchez (PKMS), and Miles Harvey ( Hillcrest) combined their voices for a sound that inspired all who were present. By the time the rhythym instruments were handed out to the adults seated on stage, the audience was ready to dance their way to work!
