Ask Danielle
Q: Dear Danielle, I am going through a break up and I don’t know how to handle it. I am a freshman girl in high school and my boyfriend was a sophomore. We were dating for six months and I thought we really liked each other. We met at a music festival and that was one of the things we bonded over. We had an instant connection. I don’t know how to handle the break up. Can you help me? -Anonymous Depressed Freshman
A: Dear Anonymous Depressed Freshman, I understand that you are upset and going through a break up is never easy. But time will heal your broken heart. It always hurts going through a break up especially when you had such a special connection with your boyfriend. But the way to handle/deal with a break up is to let yourself grieve the relationship. Give yourself sometime to grieve and cry if you need to. But don’t spend all of your time grieving the relationship. Surround yourself with your close friends and family to help you get through this rough time. I know it seems like the end of the world, but boys are like buses, you miss one you catch the next. Good Luck!
