This year marks an exciting milestone for Peekskill High School with the introduction of Ms. Nicole Kossowsky’s Digital Art classes, catering to students interested in exploring art through digital mediums rather than traditional studio methods. The positive student responses have prompted the school to plan two courses for 2024-2025.
Digital 1 (Grades 9-12) is an elective designed to engage students in the dynamic world of digital photography. The course demands a high level of commitment as students learn the basics of visual communication through photography, art and design.
Digital 2 (Grades 10-12) is for serious photography students who wish to continue the digital photography sequence as students develop a personal point of view, exploring the differences between the human eye and the camera lens to create a body of personal digital images.
Under Ms. Kossowsky’s guidance, the students have excelled. With their positive reception and a growing number of students eager to participate, Peekskill High School’s Digital Art empowers a new generation of digital artists. See student work posted here in the Mercury.
