The Peekskill Youth Bureau has a program for young people interested in building boats. Directed by Mr. Francis and under the supervision of Mr. Taylor, participants learn how to work with tools, and develop skills in woodworking.”Learning skills such as measuring, sawing, and painting, makes me feel calm”. says Justin Hayes, one of the proram’s student/ supervisors. Justin has been with the program since its start. In addition to building boats, Justin said that the group has gone on trips and participated in the Peekskill Celebration.The program is open to new members. If you are interessted, you can contact Mr. Francis at the Youth Bureau or visit the workshop at 1245 Park St. Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday after school .
