By now all of you know the story of Trayvon Martin. Trayvon Martin was only 17 when he was killed. His killing was not gang related, he was not being chased by cops, and he had not been fighting. He was simply walking to his dad’s house when he was followed and then shot because he had a hoodie on and he was black. He stopped at the store to get a bag of Skittles and an Arizona ice tea and that is when the  guy came after him. This story is such a big deal because when Kim Kardashian got powder thrown on her, the person who did it was arrested immediately. Yet Trayvon’s killer is still free. Trayvon deserves justice and  cities won’t sleep until he gets it. He was 17 years old. His killing made many young African Americans feel that they too could be gone any minute.

There is a movement for Trayvon though, people all over are gathering and demonstrating.They are wearing their hoodies and and buying Arizonas and Skittles to honor him. This kind of attack could of happen to anybody. Hopefully, people will open their eyes to this and make changes not only to the justice system, but within their own community. People of all colors should feel safe and know that the police are keeping them safe.
