Hi there my fellow Peekskill High Schoolers! Today March 20, 2013 is the first day of spring. So, forget that there is snow on the ground, and the fact that it is supposed to snow tomorrow and on Monday. Just dive into everything Spring! I know your Spring Fever is probably running as high as mine is. So let me put your mind at ease and tell you about all the great things you can do and get involved in while you wait for mother-nature to get with the program.
I know that sometime soon there will be a Spring Spirit Day. All grades will be assigned a color to wear, and we will be getting out of class a little early so that we can all gather in the gym for some fun, healthy competition among the different grades. Also, spring is also the beginning of new sports! Say goodbye to Basketball and hello Baseball, Lacrosse, Softball, Tennis, and Track and field! Anyone is welcomed to come and add their athletic abilities to sport teams that are definitely in need. Just remember to get your physicals over with, and to the nurse pronto.
Moreover, I hear the Drama Club is having a pool party Friday, March 22, 2013 at the middle school. What better way to dive into Spring, than diving into a pool? Not to mention you'll be helping the Drama Club raise money for their Spring production of “Once on this Island.” Another way you can help the Drama Club raise money for their production is by buying raffle tickets. I know what your thinking, it's a one and a million chance that I'll win, and your right, but if you win, you will receive a gift card to one of the amazing restaurants in our area. Or you can just buy a raffle ticket to show you care, your choice!
Hope your Spring Break is fun-filled. Let us know what you will be up to in the comment box below!
