Interview with the candidates!
Devonte Woodton is running for sophmore class president, with his VP running mate: Rebecca Au.
When asked why he was running Devonte repplied: “I want to make changes. There need to be changes from last year – [I] want to fix last year’s problems.”
What do you hope to change this year? “I want more communication with the sophmore class, [and] get more people involved.”
Why are you two [Devonte and Rebecca] running together? “We’re friends and we’ll work well together,” the two candidates said, smiling.
Christopher Garzon
Christopher Garzon is the second presidential candidate for sophmore class, and believes that he will be a good choice for 2014.
Why do you want to run for president? “I want to see change in the school. There’s a lot of energy underutilized and the school (students and faculty) has a lot of potential.
What changes would you make if you got elected? “Better conditions in school – cleaner bathrooms, more organized schedules (e.g. A.S.R., lunch) and increased prom budget.”
Rebecca Au
Rebecca Au is running for sophmore VP as running mate with her friend Devonte.
Why are you running for vice-president? “I want to help make a change in my class and be more involved than I was last year.”
And when asked: “What do you hope to accomplish as sophmore VP?” Rebecca replied: “[I want to] raise more money for sophomore class and encourage more involvement.”
Rebecca reminds voters “Vote for me and Devonte!”
Calvin Elmore
Calvin Elmore is the 2014 candidate for sophmore class secratary.
When asked why he wanted to run for an office Calvin said, “[I want to] change miscommunication in class, [and] help classs officers – students – faculty – to communicate.”
“What changes would you like to make if you were secratary?” Calvin replied: “I want to utilize the newspaper and other school resources. Our biggest job is to prepare our peers to graduate.”
When he was asked if he’d run again next year Calvin seemed confident he would. “I’ll run next year, for vice president or student council.”
