Living With ADHD
You may have heard of ADHD before. It stands for Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, and I was diagnosed with it when I was eight years old.
I’ve heard from many people that I have “the attention span of a squirrel.” When I hear that, I want to scream, “it’s not my fault!” It’s something that I have to deal with every day. For instance, when I wake up in the morning, I sometimes look at my carpet and feel myself lost in space.
I can easily go off topic, and I don’t realize it until I listen to what I’m saying. Then I ask, “how did we go from talking about Fortnite skins to conspiracy theories?”
It may be frustrating, but sometimes I forget I have it. At times, I even come to terms with it, realizing, “oh, I guess I’m stuck with this for the rest of my life.” It’s all cool.
