On  9,2011, Asia Jackson signed off to the D1 school, Hofstra University. We are all very proud of Asia.   she was a star in the  making when they  first saw her take hard challenges during recreation basketball back in elementary school.  By her side during her signing was her parents,Karen Edmond and Shawn Jackson and her sister Adriane Jackson in the front row. Mr.Jackson  actually played with Coach Panazanro back in his day and was a star also. So many knew Asia’s basketball career was in good hands.
                     I ,myself, have  played with Asia since fourth grade. As a teammate , and family member, I have seen Asia grow into the star she is. She put her heart into every game she ever played and made sure her teamates were all on the same page as her. She is not selfish with ball, but when she has to, she will take over.Asia had many scholarship offers and many thought that  she would go off and play with St.Johns, but I guess things didnt work out andand we are glad that  she is happy with her choice. Her plan for after Hofstra is too play basketball overseas.Asia said that she felt that Hofstra will help her gain that opprutunity after her college career is over.
             To Asia jackson, the PHS Mercury members and Iwould like to wish you the best of luck at Hoftstra next year. We also hope that you and the Lady Red Devils have a successfull season this year.
