Volleyball: Red Devils lose to Beacon in 3 sets.
The Peekskill Girls Varsity Volleyball team took a lose to Beacon on Tuesday. Coach Dennis Adams summed up the game stating, “Our Red Devils were challenged before the match started, missing 1 marquee player who had a family emergency, and 3 others who felt sick or nauseous at game time.” He continued saying “after a reshuffling of the line-up, it took some time before we had our feet under us to start scoring points. Beacon took a 5-17 lead in the first set, but we came back to cut the deficit in half 13-19. Beacon continued on to win all 3 sets.”
Even though the Red Devils lost the game, Coach Adams always tries to se success in every game and his players. After this game Coach gave a player of the match award to PHS sophmore #7 Arianna Hurtado (DS, OH, S). He said, “Arianna withstood the onslaught of Beacon’s best hitter #10, leading the team with 12 Digs. She stayed positive and determined throughout the match, and also registered an Ace serve. Congratulations Arianna.”
